Avocado ID
« on: December 29, 2012, 08:29:58 AM »
Visited the cousins in Homestead last week and took some avocados home.  Variety unknown.  The tree is 20 years old and 25 ft tall.   Fruit weight averaged 2 1/4 lbs.

I know it is a west indian cause of the soft texture when ripe.  Put them in paper bags and they ripened fast.   Tasted weak and watery.  Any ideas?

The Carrie mango was also huge and loaded with flowers.   And I forgot the camera - woof!

Looks like Monroe except that at this time they are not watery, they are tasty and creamy. It could be a Monroe seedling.
