Citrus 2020 (potted)

My citrus are all blushing orange what feels like earlier than usual this year (9B Sacramento area).  How's everyone else's crops progressing this season?

All of my citrus are presently 95 percent mature, showing a good orange coloring.

The finger limes are ripe.  The winter navals all appear to be within weeks of start of harvest.  I'm excited for the bounty.

I've eaten most of my okitsu wase satsumas and my kishu already.   My Owari are ripening now and a few other satsuma varieties are starting to color up in 9b Modesto area.

My owari fruit are starting to show a little orange color.

Containerman, my Kishu are just about there.  Maybe another 2-weeks they'll be ready.

Mine are showing hints of orange but I suspect it is because my greenhouse doesn't get cold enough for them to color up.  I have been eating them for at least a month.  My grapefruits have more skin coloration than the oranges or mandarins, actually.

Mines aren't producing any fruit yet, but they're growing fast right now. It gets me excited for next year.

I do have one tree with one single flower. Will this prevent my tree from growing new branches and new leaves?
I'd rather have a bigger tree next year than collect a single off season fruit, unless it does anything to the growth.

Oliver, the typical advice is to remove any fruitlets from the citrus plan in its first year(s).  This is to help promote energy into roots and structural growth, I believe.  I don't think that one flower is of much concern.  I, personally, would just leave it to see if any pollination occurs (any other flowers around?)  Good luck. Looks like you have some kind of indoor setup there.

Oliver, you can safely leave the flower on the tree.  Perdue University research has found that leaving one fruit to grow on a small young tree does not effect the tree's growth.  This is because the fruit does not draw the energy required to develop from the entire tree, but rather only from the 3 closest leaves to the fruit.  Therefore, there is nothing to concern yourself with letting a fruit develop.

Well that sounds great. It's pretty much the ideal scenario for me. Possibly my first fruit while not slowing down the growth.
