I'd also be interested. Our Lowe's sometimes stocks grafted liners, but not sure what rootstock those would be on.

Been waiting on 4winds to post stock. For 8 of those though, would be cool if we could do a group buy from https://www.citrustreesource.com/products/rootstock-seedlings/. I'd be in for 10, but I don't have a biz ID, and they didn't respond to my smaller inquiry.

I have a rootstock tree (scion died) from a Lowe's in california that I'm pretty sure is c-35 that fruited this year. I just threw out the remaining fruit from the current crop, though. If you want some next year you can have them.

Slightly less awful? But still terrible. Seedy, juice has kind of an off taste and isn't pure sour.

That'd be awesome! Might have to ping you this winter. Will see how 4 winds availability goes. I did get an email notification from 4winds about stock, once last october, but I was slow and it was out again in less than a day. Just playing with PT seeds for now. Didn't realize CTS retail seedling prices were so much higher.

Sure, sounds good. I got around 15 fruit this year on my little container c-35(?) tree. If anybody wants seeds next season you can have them for just cost of shipping. I'll post again once I get fruit.

I'd like to find some way to verify 100% that this is c-35, but so far I am going based on photos of leaves and fruit, and the fact that c-35 seems to be a really common rootstock.

Brian, planting a test group of seeds should produce about 15% off types, if it's C-35. Carrizo and Troyer have just under 2% off types.

Do you have the tag for the tree? La verne uses c35 only I believe.

i guess Ill just go hit the nursery in fallbrook and see if I can score some rootstocks. Or buy a couple 5 gallon trees and top work them if I have to. Not easy to find citrus rootstocks online it seems.

The nusery tag only lists the variety, nothing about the grower. THe back is empty.

my tree had over a dozen fruits, so I decided to try this experiment and see. Surprisingly, some of the fruits had zero or only one seed. I only ended up with about 64 full size seeds while I was expecting at least double that. I just planted them in a seedling tray.

How obvious are the "off types"? I am hopeful that you mean they are easily recognizable as tiny seedlings, and not "wait for fruit"

This is what C-35 seedlings look like at time of germination. Some of the off types will show enough distinction to be positively identified with clear differences in leaf shape, variations in color, vigor, or lack thereof. However, there will be a percentage of zygotic seedlings indistinguishable from the nucellar clones.

And then if anybody wants the seedlings let me know. I have no use for them beyond this experiment, I'm just curious if they are indeed C-35. Maybe I can trade for some flying dragon seeds.
