Have you tried the Brogdon? I’ve heard good things. I’m looking for any cold hardy varieties (I guess pretty much all Mexican?) that taste ok or better...
I understand commercial and even small farm applications, but I’m curious as to why backyard growers don’t cocktail more trees? Too unreliable? Uneven growth? I would like some zutano etc. blooms but I don’t want to sacrifice an entire tree’s space to have it, I’d rather just have a couple branches.
I’m on your page Brad, prefer to grow hardy seedlings out and top work later, the problem is that weather is too unpredictable here in gulf Texas. Everything I got from you last month I topworked then we hit 26 for 4 hrs. I wrapped them up, maybe one bacon and one zutano made it... the rest are toast. By late March-April it will be way too hot. I prefer November grafts, I guess I’m going to have to cold frame and Macguyver heat for better success
