Sudden discoloration of yellow jaboticaba leaves?
« on: January 16, 2022, 09:00:56 PM »
Temps have dropped below 40F so I have moved all my smaller tropicals inside. They've been inside for a day and my yellow jabo is getting some serious discoloring. It's 74F in my house. Is this cold damage, or something else?

Looks like typical color caused from cooler temps.
I notice all my jabos look ragged this time of the year and
usually push new leaves around March and look much better.

Thats reassuring. I guess it also doesn't help moving it in and out with temp changes.  :)

Same thing here. That purple look is classic "I am cold and do not like it" for all my eugenia / jabo. We're almost out of the hole and I see them charging up with lots of new branch spikes.

I got the same reddish discoloration on my tropical guavas in the gh, its not as severe as this and is more like sertain places of the leaf get it, but not the whole leaves. I have it to an extent on my surinam cherry also ,accompanied with some dot like spots that are visible only on the underside of the leaves.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Almost overnight, one of jabos Escarlate turned brown. Since than it's dropping leaves. Nothing was done lately. Another one stands right next to it with no issues. Ana
