2022 Second Yangmei (Myrica Rubra) Group Order(Tentative)
« on: February 01, 2022, 05:32:06 PM »
Dear members,

Thank you all for your great support in the previous group order https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=45912.msg447057. The trees were pulled from ground on 1/15/22, got shipped by air on 1/17/22,
and on 1/21/22 and 1/22/22, more than 50% trees were already at buyers' hand. It was truly an amazing journey for the Yangmei trees, we received lots of good feedback and new inquires.

This is an tentative plan to import another 500 Yangmei trees at price $45 per tree( trees are  two to four years old, bigger than the previous group order) with air freight deliver service. There will be following seven varieties and male trees(at same price $45).

Biqi(荸荠): Small fruits (10-20g) with small pits, black, juicy, sweet with aroma. Said to be tasty
Late Growing(晩稲): Small-medium fruits, matures late, purple-black, delicate flesh, sweet and sour, juicy and fragrant.
Crystal(水晶): white surface, medium size(around 14 grams), juice, fresh and sweet, slightly sour, top quality.
Dongkui(东魁): large (20-40g), dark red, excellent flavor.
Black Crystal(Also know as Big black carbon, 黑晶): large (15-30g), dark black, sweeter than Dongkui, super delicious.
An Hai (Soft,Silk, 安海软丝): Medium size, creamy taste, juicy, and sweet, excellent flavor, best variety in southern area in China.
WuSu(乌酥): Good flavor, the best appraised variety in the Guangdong province, grows well in the warm area.

Trees are  2-4 year old bare-root trees(required by USDA APHIS).

Group order members in North California San Francisco Bay Area, and South California, can do local pick up after the plants arrive. For others, we can mail by UPS or USPS, shipping fee is expected to be paid by buyers.

Please add your tree request, minimum 4 trees per order in this thread below, I will summarize.

I would be interested and happy to work with another Southern CA member for transportation.
2x Biqi Female
2x Biqi Male
2x Dongkui Female
2x Dongkui Male

Total 8 for now and depending on last day for this order, if the prior order shows signs of greater success than last year, I would be happy to multiply those numbers to help us get to the 500 tree mark sooner.

It's up to you. Trees are grafted, please see the explanation Yangmei Pollination at the top of previous order page https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=45912.msg447057.   Male trees are in same price.

A 4-year old Yangmei is probably better suited to withstand the stress of bare rooting AND different growing climate. So, I'm in this time, Bill:
  • 1 Biqi female
  • 2 Dongkui females
  • 2 Black Diamon females

Hi K-Rimes, we do not have male for blank diamond, do you like to have two female trees? You can use Biqi male for cross pollination.

Bill..

isn't it too hot to dig up bare root tree and ship them to US and we have to "revive" them again?

In China, it is the coldest season after new year holidays.

When does the black diamond harvest come in season? The An Hai is the earliest, in mid May.
