I've heard about Pirate ship but anyone have a good guess on the cost of this

I think I will ship a standard box
24 1/2 inch lenth
10 1/2 Height
19 width

Full of heavy fruit I might ship more boxes , and I might ship some tree's
(if they are certified to ship, but who does that do you know?)

(copy/paste) Buying mamey sapote fruit here is expensive a 2 1/2 fruit (including the seed)
is like $30

Any ways I am going to Florida , and want to Ship fruit
Already have a Ticket to Miami

Last year I bought a smaller version called sapodilla (white sapote )
they can be bought hard, and ripen later
(I also wild picked some, but only ones that were going to rot on the ground since I didn’t ask permission )
(trust me they where abandoned )

I do not know the best shipping rates

I saw about shipping pawpaws
I should ship Monday I heard, but not sure if I could that early

If I can learn this

In the future
I could ship to members here maybe as well
(maybe northern apples /pears / un common stuff ( forged curiosities) etc.)

If I get interest I will Oh could also ship slow if it makes since
Some fruit can be held for a few days (sapodilla or maybe a week )

I do not think sapodilla is as good as mamey but I can buy those cheap
not sure yet about mamey are they pricy down there (I saw a street vender with them, but was in a hurry/)

Actually winging this trip (I booked for New Orleans, but had problems with booking agent.)Oh I have a lot of talents , but shipping isn’t one of them
Guess I will have to learn eventually

FWIW you can stuff a carry on bag with fruit and people will not ask any questions

You can fill some usps flat rate boxes and ship those.
I would probably just bring it in a carry on or pack it in a checked bag.

Shipping by weight will be very expensive so use the flat rates.
Pirate ship is great but you need easy printer access.

I have done this a few times.  I travel light and often have extra checked bag allocations that I don't need.  I go dumpster diving or to Costco for cardboard, buy a roll of packing tape and a box cutter, and build boxes that are exactly the limits of the airline cargo dimensions for checked luggage.  For some trees where the rootballs were too big to fit, or too heavy, I tried bare-rooting them and those trees mostly died.  The ones whose roots were not disturbed significantly did fine.

If you go over weight or over length the fees are massive, so if it won't fit don't bother - mail it.

EDIT - I just noticed you are talking about sending fruit and not trees.  I guess that is far simpler, checked bag limits are usually 50lbs.
