« on: March 18, 2022, 03:58:50 PM »
I think this is the largest Pineapple fruit i’ve ever come across. Granted, … its freaky looking. LOL

Thought I’d share.  I believe this was in Malaysia.

Is it really that large or is the lady standing some distance behind the plant ?  Go to see another shot or something in front of the plant for perspective.

Looks like some mad scientist cranked up the radiation a bit too much for genetic mutation :/

Idk if I would dare to taste it ...

Apparently the academic term for fruit that has genetic abnormalities is ‘fascination fruit.’  Had no idea.

Interesting:

Make that ‘fasciation.’  Devil is always in the details 🤔🤨

nice one, how was it tastewise??Youre in a colder zone than me, nice job!  I have also just started messing with pineapples and have 3 rooted crowns ,will plant them in my greenhouse in april, i have also one little baby pineapple also from a storebought fruit that survived winter in the gh ,so hopefully they do well in there.

It was very sweet, no acidity, mild flavor and very juicy. I was pretty happy with it as it was just from a store bought pineapple. Hope that the pineapple growing goes well! I hope to grow more in the future when I have more space.
