Variegated Brazilian pepper
« on: May 24, 2022, 11:49:16 AM »
Found this growing wild in an empty lot by my house. Thought it was interesting even though the plant is bad news in my area.

Bad news, yep...  Brazilian Pepper (Schinus terebinthifolia) is on the Florida Invasive Plant List.  It's related to poison ivy and if that's not enough birds that eat the red berries it produces get 'drunk' from the berries.

The sap of this plant can cause skin irritation.

Best to root it out and get rid of it.
