Fruit Punch or Fruit Cocktail mango?
« on: August 09, 2022, 02:38:46 PM »
Hello there, has any one tasted both fruit punch and fruit cocktail mango?

Which one tastes better?
Which tree is better, as in smaller and good producer.

Mango manor said fruit cocktail is the best this year so far.

Have to agree with Bovine. You're asking mango lovers with various palates to confirm the tree which you will be installing? Just pick one and don't look back. You can top work it later if you prefer the other.

Did you read Alex's descriptions?  Different flavor profiles.  It seems we've heard more about Fruit Punch than Cocktail.  Most people like it, but Alex says it BBS-prone.

Yes, I know taste is very subjective... however I did also ask about the tree growth habit and its productivity.

Thanks John about that info.

I planted Fruit Cocktail.  I got it from Lara Farms and the tree is tiny...I really hope it makes it.  Fruit Cocktail is very good.

While we are talking about tastings, has anyone tried P-22? It has gotten a lot of hype this year, does anyone know if it is uniquely different and what flavor profile category would you put it in? Thanks

I personally prefer Fruit Punch, MBBS is not that much of an issue for me so far.
Pretty, reliable, and tasty in my yard.

concerning P-22, it's a Zinc seedling, it tastes similar enough to me.
If you had a Sweet Tart, Kathy, Zinc, or Venus it would be pretty comparable
Solidly in the Indochinese flavor group
