Freezing Jackfruit

Does jackfruit freeze well?
If so, do you have to remove the seed from the aril?

it freezes perfectly.  I like to stock up for when the season ends so I can still get my fix.

If you can, freeze the individual bulbs on a cookie sheet first then place them in zip top bag.  If not you have a giant chunk of jackfruit that you have to pry apart, though well worth the effort.

I freeze mango slices on a cookie sheet like Ethan mentioned, but if it is too much trouble for you to do that for the Jackfruit just put 6 =8 arils in a medium zip lock bag and lie the bag flat and separate the arils and freeze lying flat this way they won't freeze into a lump. This is how I do it and it works great, I like Jackfruit frozen much better than eating it fresh. It is so cold and refreshing in the heat of the summer and they will last a long time in the bags.

My freezer always seems to be loaded with frozen jackfruit. They are good frozen and I don't eat it fast enough.

I cleaned my vegetable tar baby and froze it like MarinFla suggested except that my bags were fully packed and I just gave them a few shakes and squeezes as the arils were freezing and nothing stuck together. I can take out a few pieces at a time now. This jack seedling is orange, crunchy and tastes like tutti frutti.
