Hardy pomegranate (Afganski) in zone 7a taking its sweet time

Nice! They should really start taking off soon. Jersey is lookin a lot warmer starting this weekend per the forecast.

All leafed out now, flowers will follow soon. There is a definite setback compared to around this time last year there were already many flower buds.



Winter die back is noticeable now and will be pruning the dead wood:




First attempt at an air layer. I've been slowly cloning this tree since last year via cuttings. I have 3 other small rooted cuttings planted in different areas of the yard.
