Top 5 favorite fruits (including non tropicals)

I am not sure what wooden apple is but there is nothing better than ripe quince. It has unique taste and smell.

Maybe I should have said "wooden pear," but anyway I've never experienced a ripe one.  I've only seen them dry and hard, and I thought you had to boil or bake them.  What's the texture like when fully ripe?  Do you grow them in your garden?

I would love to grow them but they need more chill hours than we have. Its hard to find a good quince in florida, they are mostly too hard and not good. Ideally they are chewy and juicy. They are deep yellow color when ripe. I was able to buy a few good ones recently at fancy fruit and produce

2 - Greengage (especially the cultivar "Große Grüne Reneklode")
3 - Strawberry (ONLY the cultivar "Mieze Schindler", really a legendary taste not compareable to other strawberries and I have grown over 100 varieties myself!)
4 - Fig
5 - Persimmon

Tropical:

1 - Mango (especially the cultivar "Alphonso", but there are certainly better ones in India)
2 - Dates (especially fresh ones of the cultivar "Wanan" and "Sukkari")
3 - Durian (especially cultivars that do not have a strong onion flavor and hardly any acidity)
4 - Banana
5 - Pineapple

I'm sure there are even better fruits out there in the world, as well as varieties I'm not familiar with that I can only hope to encounter one day!

Yeah, can you tell us why you don't like mangoes?  Deep mystery.  Are you allergic?  I mean, dragonfruit and black sapote over mango?  That's a distressing concept.

1. Mango. I mostly ate it green. I only recently try eating more ripes variety.

2. Longan. Sweet and easy to eat. I can eat a whole kilo by myself lol.

3. Maprang and Mayong chit. They are like tiny mango that you eat it with the peel. Some maybe astringent and will hurt to eat. Maprang is sweet with purple send. Mayong chit bigger, sweet and sour, with smaller seed.

4. SugarKiss melon. It's my most favorite American fruit(or well, fruit that i can find commonly in grocery store). It's so sweet and melt in your mouth.

5. Persimmon, guava, watermelon, durian, mangosteen, rose apple, custard apple, coconut, banana. I just can't leave something i enjoy a lot out so i had to list them all lol.

2. Grape (store table grapes not as good. Mostly wine grape or hybrids with American natives). More of a juice person mainly all they have is concord juice.
3. Peach (good for milk shakes or juice but the fuzz makes me only occasionally eat them)

5. Blackberries though mulberries are about the same.

8. Bananas (similar with grapes the store ones are about the worst tasting so exotic bananas like raja puri or red)


Not really impressed with mangoes, passion fruit or other exotics. They are ok and good for variety but I'd take an orange or strawberry over those.

See guys just what I told you. 58 may choose mango as top. But some people have far different tastes.

95% never chose the same thing as best when it comes to fruit.
