mango trees : keep forever compact

Central FL.  Inground, young.  Varieties unknown; not dwarves.
I plan to prune to keep heights at 6' max, and to keep widths appropriate to heights.  Has any of you done anything of the sort?

You will probably have to use dwarf varieties to keep six feet.
If you have room, plant one every five years and alternately replace one every ten years. The older they get the harder to control. Try to grow in full sun exposure to stay shorter. These are just my thoughts. Paclobutrazol chemically dwarfs mango.

U could bend the branches down with ropes fixes to a wooden stake ,hammered into the ground. I've did this to different types of plants ,when i want to spread the crown.

Well, they were speaking about adding it into water with zebrafish....

Yes, no doubt it can be abused however it is used worldwide on mango including Australia which is generally risk-averse. Very commonly used in USA on ornamental plants to make them bush form.

From your experience growing mangos, which do you consider the dwarf varieties?

I like Pickering as for as size and flavor. I’ve used this page to look at characteristics to chose some new mangoes, plus a little side research once I’ve seen some that look appealing.
