Is black gold soil good for miracle berries?
« on: December 05, 2021, 06:10:37 PM »
So I am trying to grow a miracle berry in a container, due to the fact I live in zone 6 and I have read that miracle berries need acidic soil. One of the ways I read on how to do this, was to use Canada sphagnum peat moss. The black gold is made up mostly of said item, but I've also read they add some things to make it less acidic. I'm wondering, is Black Gold a good choice for miracle berries? If not, what should I get instead?

I have a highly productive miracle berry in a 3gal container, I add "garden sulphur" to the container

If that's the case, what's the specific product you use? The brand name can also work.

The sulfur product is Espoma brand, called Soil Acidifier, which is widely available

The soil I use is something like a 5-1-1 mix, mainly mulch
