Having fun with macro shots of fruit trees and stuff, and wanted to share:

Clicking on pics and zooming in you can see more detail.

Gulf fritillary munching on p. nitida; I can't go for that, no can do!

I tried macro but the birds did not like me to get that close.

Whoa Kaz! Those shots are sweet!! Really love the little hummers. Trying to catch a decent shot of the ones around here, they are too fast. There has to be a nest nearby.

Zoom and macro together seems like a natural match.

I honestly don't think I've seen hummingbird pictures as good as these (then again I don't go searching) but wow!!

And rob that pineapple is crazy, I seem to never find cool looking caterpillars just lots and lots of wasps , can't forget all the hornworms that destroy my peppers each year  although I'll admit, they are pretty striking

Tru, thanks for the complement. I just use an old Sony camera (DSC-H90) that I had since 2012. I used it for work (retired now) and for fruit tree photos.

The hummingbird nest on my loquat is 5 ft from my front door so I can't miss it.

...super cool pics, really like the frogs. So glad we have better doors and windows now, they used to keep me up when it rained at night.

Your black pepper pic reminds me of when I brought a coworker a piper nigrum plant, and told them it was a "black pepper vine."

They were confused, and started they had never seen a "black pepper."

Too funny about the Black Pepper, roblack! In the bug photo, an Assassin Bug is eating a fly that was pollinating my Pickering 😳 Fortunately, enough flies survived to achieve excellent fruit set😄. Thanks for the macro recommendation!

They're back . . .

When the lubbers are still that small (or even closer to having newly hatched) I find that just a light spray with RAID! House & Garden to each one is enough to knock them down. 

Then they will lie on the ground  in the sun, incapacitated, and the hot sun will dry them out and finish them off. 

This always works very well for me until the lubbers get older and start showing adult coloration.

Epicatt2, believe it or not, I just let the Lubbers be. I don't notice any damage from them, really. I hear they love Crinum Lilies, which is a crinum shame, but I don't have those here.

Yes, lubbers are back, and they LUB crinum and even mango leaves. We call them demons. On larger plants, not an issue. On a small tree or ornamental, unwelcome and worthy of das boot!

Jumping spider is spectacular! Great shot Daintree!! People actually keep those as pets, probably sitting on a spider gold mine over there
