Akebia Fruit (chocolate vine)
« on: August 09, 2023, 11:28:35 PM »
This is a tough ask, but does anyone have access to the purple Akebia fruit, also known as the chocolate vine. I know its very common in Japan but im not sure about here.

Will pay.

Feel free to dm!

I can send you a big plant lol. But seems like you want fruit, but that would be difficult to find.

There's at least a few in the CRFG. I've sampled it on numerous occasions at the meetings.

It's interesting, but insipid. I like passiflora more if you can grow them.

I always got strange looks when I said it had an aroma similar to chocolate.

There's a legal way to send Chinese fruits directly to the States.

My Akebia trifoliata is fruiting heavily this year. They won't be ripe until early September, but I'd be happy to mail you one or two. I'm in Washington State.
