information about Annona senegalensis
« on: October 18, 2021, 04:24:05 PM »
Hi, i read about this tree which is said to be great not only for its fruit but also for its flowers and leaves and every part of it. I m still puzzled, because Annonas in general are thought to be dangerous because of annonacin in their leaves, seeds, or peel; also, such a small fruit 5 cm at most, may have very little to eat if it is full of inedible seeds. So, is it worthwhile? Any experience about it?
Thank you!

Have a bunch of seedlings at the moment and just distributed many to growers on here-

If the fruit is not good it may be useful as a dwarfing rootstock,

Many people continue to eat the seeds, make tea from the leaves, and many other stupid (in my opinion) things from these species-

There is a well documented body of literature on the toxicity this genus- stay away from anything that isn't the fruit
