Camu-camu (myrciaria dubia).
« on: November 06, 2015, 02:42:48 PM »
Hi!

I have some camu-camu seedlings. They can be grown in pots or not? How long they take to set fruit?

Thank you,

Joćo Franco

No?! So, what a disappointment! Any idea what this might be? I was finding strange they were growing so fast!

Hi Joćo,

I received some seedlings like those too... and me too I strongly suspect those are not Camu-camu seedlings...
problem is those serrated leaves that are not common in myrciarias or even mirtaceas... still no idea about what that could be... time will tell for sure.

JFranco,

sorry i dont' know what they are...but they are not even related to jaboticaba, the leaves are not opposite like they should be...they are alternate instead.

lol i see a rolled up bag from your seeds, stuffed into the soil in the pot, being used it as a label....it's nice to see i'm not the only lazy grower who does this!  I got a good laugh when I saw the bag, just like mine.

Hi! The only other plant I have with more or less similar leaves is governor's plum-flacourtia indica.

Yes, it is just a great way of labeling the plants! ;D
