I love Bills videos, he's always so excited about everything he does.

40 acres? overlooking the bay? Will you be documenting this project? I know I'd love to see it!

Good day fellow fruit lovers! Joe Hewitt was so nice to open up his tropical fruit farm and give a wonderful tour recently. I wanted to share that video with everyone and give an update 🙂

Very cool video.  I’m glad you are covering it in multiple segments, that’s a lot of land to cover. I don’t want to think about the time and expense of managing 60 acres with all those rare fruit trees. The way things grow on that part of the island, it has to be hard enough keeping the grass and jungle from overtaking the decorative plants and trees. I struggle with 6 acres of land in a near desert climate.

I was thinking the same thing.  So much work to keep it in check with all that rainfall.

Eyeckr, thanks for the video, looking forward to part 2.

Beautiful and inspiring!

I tried perennial peanut as a ground cover a few times, didn't grow well for me, guessing it needs a lot of water or it didn't like my clay soil.  Found his assessment of pitangatuba useful since he's grown so many seedlings.  I'm going to pull all mine to make room for other things.

I bet I know how Bobby tags his graffiti... "Bobby Biswas here"...

Seriously though that quiff is bad ass.
Eugenia luschnathiana = CURUIRI.    Talisia esculenta = PITOMBA
I do not recommend people deal with Fruit Lovers, Prisca Mariya or Fernando Malpartida

Thanks for part 2 video.  Damn, that is a lot of Jabos!!!  I agree with Bobby, without a doubt they are the most ornamental of fruit trees with so much variety in foliage.  A fruiting Jabo takes it to the next level.  I've been waiting to hear more taste reviews on the different varieties.  Funny to hear that Joe's description of (seed grown?) ESALQ was poor quality relative to other varieties.  It will be interesting to see if the quality of select varieties holds up in the seedling trees, but from your video, there appears to be a lot of variation even among seedlings.  Sounds like Branca Mel was his favorite so far?

Regarding Artocarpus Nanchuanensis, what was your impression of the flavor and edibility?  I like the idea of a more cold tolerant Artocarpus.

Bittersweet to see this was the final part. Interesting to see that each place has its problems. Those rose beetles in particular.
