I was gifted some frozen ones yesterday also. Edward, ice cream, tara lay, Maha Chanok, florigon all were delicious. Just like sorbet! They do lose some of the unique flavors like ice cream have a less pronounced creamy flavor and that floral like flavor of maha seemed to disappear but still very very enjoyable. It's a great way to preserve them, just throw whole mangos in the freezer. It doesn't get any easier.

I used my 15 gal tank setup I got from hobo freight and sprayed everything with sulfur last week. I think the set up would improve with another pump to agitate the solution amd keep it mixed but even with the one pump I was impressed with the coverage it made on the trees. You could always filter the big chunks of sulfur out before adding to the holding chamber. Let us know how it works with fixed plumbing, sounds like a game changer.
Your ideal starting to grow on me I may have been too ambitious thinking I could irrigate 10 trees at a time but I could add a threaded pvc attachment above the cut off valve to be able to couple a hose and spray sulfur for about 3 minutes which would be a gallon as an experiment then potentially more trees
If you have a riding mower then I highly suggest it. I just drive around the trees and spray at the same time. I'll have to time the process next go around. Also a friend of mine did the same thing but he got the 250gal ibc tote and a gas powered pump in the back of his older truck. He has a long garden hose attached to it and says it's been helping a lot with fruit setting on lemon zest.  Not sure the size of your property but I'm sure one of those ways would help.

That should work real well if you have a large enough pump and/or if the pvc is a small enough diameter. That would really cut down on effort. I hope it works really well!

It looks good to me. I have the same problem with one that's a bit more exposed to wind than the others and is flushing some fresh foliage and tomorrow it's gonna blow 20mph and whip them around like crazy.

My leaves are always a twisted, gnarly mess, not like the clean, green, straight leaves I've seen others have.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Besides the aphids under the leaves it could also be the wind distorting the leaves.

-1 for me unless it comes back. Damn raccoons/squirrels need dealing with. It chewed it down to the roots and dug up the soil. Then ruined a nice sapodilla. That was my last straw with their greedy selfish attitude. Definitely was one of my favorite plants.

"Very cool monstera plants! I have a small one but have yet to try the fruits."

Timbogrow, thank you. Hope your grow well and produce fruit soon.  Make sure you grow the right variety. This link for ID it.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBprGjzCSGg
Thank you, although I probably won't be producing any monstera fruit immediately there is lots of other trees/plants starting to produce. I think I have the large form, not verigated. It has quite some time left til it produces I would imagine. I was going to get more plants from them but they were sold out when I had a chance to go back to that nursery. It really has been growing slowly and effortlessly in my area. Great looking plant.

Figured I would start another thread welcoming people to add the link to your fruit tree videos for all of our entertainment.
I created a few shorts of some random plants so far. The grand tour would be quite lengthy so I'm trying to keep them fairly quick.
Here is the link to my jungle https://youtube.com/@Room_for_1_more_fruit_tree?si=ZqlNouSEocbEyEeJ
Anyone can post their link to their videos weather it be a farm in subtropics, gree house in northern USA or even a greenhouse in syberia. No need to worry about stealing a thread or whatever. I'm sure we all would enjoy seeing everyone's efforts and passions.
-happy growing everyone!

That's cool Brian! I have 2 of those and 3 burkartiana. They are both easy to differentiate. Hope you get to test the fruit!

The sand where I've been mulching for 3-4 years looks amazing. I'm thinking of trying a fertilizer using the mangos on the big prolific producing tree that is very mediocre in flavor on the other mango trees. I left a bunch under there to rot last year and the tree looks amazing and is full of flowers now. That was the only input it recieved was some fruit left to rot. I might even try this with the extra starfruit. I could imagine this and mulching would really improve south Florida's sandy soils and improve tree health.

Does anyone have any information on the 'Vinh Long' mango yet?

I still have a few left in the nursery.
I would like to plant one of those. Did you get that truck fixed yet? I've been meaning to come up your way again and bring the mini welder to help you out with that. I should still have your card somewhere and will give you a call. I have some time Tuesday or Wednesday. Or just message me your number.

Don't water those in the winter months when they are dormant. It might have root rot and that's why the leaves dropped.

The grafted hipolito white had flowers a couple months ago and seems pretty darn vigorous. Its supppsed to be a really nice tasting cultivar. I have it happily in a 25ga pot now and expect it to be fully rooted next spring time or sooner. I put some seedlings of the purple skin out in the yard also going on 2 years old but good size and they do seem to stay happy in all the sand we have.

Thanks, Timbogrow! Hoping for more flowers and of course fruit. If it makes a bunch, you're welcome to try it to see if it's any good.
Thank you fliptop! I just might do that if I have a chance when the fruit matures.

Make that 3 after dark gardener/farmer/fruitaholics lol. Get a hoverboard and attach the pot to it so you can see as you do your work. Heck  take it for walks around the neighborhood and give it a name to really get heads turning. Baaahahaha

If they get too much water they won't bloom as well. Have you been watering it a lot?

It's still real early in the northern hemisphere. Try back from  may-september. You should have better luck then.
