Torn between mango or cherimoya if u threatened my life right now I still couldnt choose lol.Yes, that is a tough choice! As far as range of flavors and growability, mango is the obvious winner.
It's a cherimoya, Playa. Atemoya has mutant looking skin especially the African pride. Cherimoya has flat and symmetrical skin and bumps.I didn't know that was an easy way to tell them apart. What do you mean by "mutant looking?" Rough, as opposed to smooth?
For personal consumption only, I would imagine. Sounds like fun. VA has that law already.Good setup for Marijuana
Haha yeah most of the stuff came with guides on growing marijuana lol
If the new cannabis law passes in 2024 Floridians will be able to grow up to 9 plants 👍🏼
I have a real bad experience regarding avocado trees from FL and PR. They all died. I can give it a try one more time if it is worth to try though. I will buy it only during the winter season. If I were in CA, I don't think I'd mess with avocado trees from FL or PR.
Right, you did say "offspring."It seems much bigger than Hass so it may not be Lamb Hass. Could it be some kind of Pinkerton's off spring?Does Pinkerton ever get that fat?
I don't know but when it grows out from a seedling it can be something very different and wild.
I have Wurtz, Maria Black, and Day.But I don't think they're for NorthCal.
So far all are staying compact.

I am not excusing shitty behavior at all, and in most cases I am sure people know they are stealing and don't care, but I wonder if this is partly because people don't value things they don't understand. No, people don't value things they don't understand. I've been fighting my HOA board who want to destroy my garden. Not one gardener on that board, and their houses look like shit landscape-wise. They don't even appreciate beauty/aesthetics. They're perfectly happy to turn the community into a barren wasteland as long as no one is violating the rules they arbitrarily created.
I followed the instructions here about keeping them in the fridge so they wouldn't ripen. BIG MISTAKE! The last three avocados subsequently ripened unevenly with interior gray spots and a texture in places that resembled cooked potato. This is something I never experienced when I had my Simmonds tree. I think that most likely they would have been alright if I hadn't refrigerated them, so keep this in mind if you order these avocados. I'm not slamming the grower, but I thought this was important information.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are at peak Mexican Kent season. I picked up a dozen Kents at Aldi last week and they were absolute perfection. Deep orange flesh, smooth as butter, and sweet like Sunny D. Relatively undersized as Kents go, but packed a flavor punch in a small package. When I lived in L.A. (prior to 1989), I ate a lot of great Kent mangos from Mexico. They've got the science down when it comes to growing Kent, or Kent really loves the terroir! All the other varieties coming out of Mexico were always so-so. I'm glad to know I'm not just imagining this.
Now I know that store bought mangos have a poor reputation, but these Kents were better than most of the FL grown mangos I had shipped to me this year. At $.59 each, it was a steal. Get ‘‘em before they’re gone.
Bananas are technically plants, not trees. Trees make barkAnd wood! But still very nice of this member to give away these banana plants.
