Thank you, yes I put the most grafts in my greenhouse, only the two ones on Sanford stay outside by temperatures between 3 and 12 ° C the last and the following days - spring will tell 😅

@ Ilya, are there any news from your breeding with 5* backcross or Sarawak  ? Very nice fruits though a little bit small.

that is a very interesting knowledge, that citrus grafted on flying dragon  (FD) ripen sone weeks earlier than on other rootstocks. Due to only smal FD seedlings I only have one FD  grafted wirh different  scions. So if my FD seedlings are a bit latger next year I will have rootstocks for dearf and early fruiting plants  . Question to the bee experts - on my citrus I have also a lot of bees in all kinds, but I noticed quite a few honey bees dead around ma blomsweet ? Could it be that some citrus flowers could be hazardous or toxic for bees ?

very delicious varieties. Got Valentine pomelo last year and after abundant flowering she kept 3 fruits, not very big guess about 200 - 300 gramm each, but I' m very curious to taste the fruit and to the colour of the flesh. Oroblanco I have to, but still no flowers yet.

Wow  , thats very impressive. Thanks for the super pictures. Not sure if the Thong Dee is available in Europe, will have to check. Due to my climate I only can grow the citrus not so very winter hardy  In containers so I think growing of Thong Dee would be a challence growing in containers, concerning the container size and the nutrition  . If frosthardiness is similiar to cocktail pomelo I could try it in my space in Northern Italy in ground.

Can confirm now hand pollination definitely will set fruit. These were the first cluster of flowers to open and the buds are noticeably swelling. I will update when fruit is mature.

Did your fruit get ripe in z7 ? I' m also in z7 and have some years a Fejoa, which mastered already - 15° C and four frostdays and also set some fruits, but they didn' t get fully ripe up to now.

I have albizia julibrissum, which got one self seedling I disn' t expect. Once I sawed seedlings and all died and now in the garden they made self sawing.

Very interesting the hybridyzation topic. I' m also very impressed about the first successes of high motivated Forum members like Kumin and Ilya. And I' m sure the more enthusiasts try different hybridyzation on the long run there will be useful citrushybrids.
In January I bougt a Nippon Orangequat with ripe edible fruit, which was very tasty and had some seeds. I sowed the few seeds and was very exited when I discovered in summer, that one of the seedlings had one leave which was trifiliate with very small two ears.
But now still have to wait a few years to see the fruit quality. Frost hardyness can be tested earlier by a graft on Poncirus rootstock.

Hi, welcome to the wonderful and complexe citrus world.
I also have meyer lemon and know it' s a very busy plant. From my experience I can answer as follows:
1. Meyer flowers several times a year. Fruits are ripe if they are yellow to light orange and a little bit smooth while light pressing by hand.
2. Normally citrus make main groth in spring, then is best time for potting citrus. Pruning is possible from spring to autumn. I have an old lemon which I prune several times a year due to very much growth.
3. Fertilizing is highly necessary due to growth and fruiting. Normaly fertilizing is necessary while the citrus plant is growing and fruiting from spring to autumn.
Cutrus needs much nitrogen and a lot of different elements like iron, maganese ..., so best is to look for spezial citrus fertilizer and fertilize as recommended on the fertilizer pack.
