Hamlin is the most cold hardy of the good juice oranges but a tangelo is slightly more cold hardy. That would be a good choice to use in further breeding.

Not really, but it is much larger now.





We have not yet had any frost by now, will pick it in the beginning of December.

There are sedlings from Andreas Voss around. I wonder if yours is the same or a different one.

As mentioned above, I got the seedling's budwood  from  Robert .

We expect first night freeze this week, so I decided to harvest this fruit.




Still partly green, 177 grams of weight.

Do you know when have it showed first flower in this year? Was it bloom in spring or later?

No, I missed its flowering.
The season was extremely hot and dry, my other inground citruses are rather late this year, probably due to the lack of water.

How did the fruit taste, Ilya?

I decided to keep it inside for few weeks until it turns to yellow.

So, after a month in room the fruit is completely yellow.



No seeds, rather thick albedo, skin has lemony perfume and  lost most of poncirus like odor.



Fruit is easy to juice



Juice has "soar" smell, no poncirus aftertaste, 12° Brix, bitter acidic taste,  very faint barely perceptible internal oils.

Finally this year there is one fruit hanging. I missed  its flowers in the spring.

How would you rank the taste within your frosthardy crosses and other frost hardy varieties of you including Morton ?

Morton is the best, practically no bitter taste. Thomasville is also fine, but small and is ripe only by spring.

So it has normal leaves? The wild orange with a verbslight trifoliate taste has normal leaves but due to taste I think it's a trifoliate poncirus hybrid.

I'm thinking it's probably a Morton seedling. It has more seeds than Morton, huge number but Morton has a lot of seeds. Seems about the same otherwise. I took some seeds from it to grow. It's greening and other disease resistant. Not great fruit but edible decent.
