very delicious varieties. Got Valentine pomelo last year and after abundant flowering she kept 3 fruits, not very big guess about 200 - 300 gramm each, but I' m very curious to taste the fruit and to the colour of the flesh. Oroblanco I have to, but still no flowers yet.

Ted, this is off topic so I will post some photos of my valentine and then removed these off topic photos tomorrow.

My valentine fruit tastes great, I like it a lot, some people do not because it has no acid/tartness. The cocktail grapefruit has a sweet and tart taste, but still much sweeter than most grapefruit.

SC4001992, your fruits are really wonderful, thank youvery very much for this motivating post  :D.
In the three years now that I' ve enlarged my citrus collection and I tasted some of mine and bought citrus fruit, cocktail Pomelo and Tarocco orange are my taste favorites fast followed by satsumas and bloomsweet, Bloomsweet was ripe also in my z7 climate in astonishing 7 months !
Now Im curious how my valentine will taste in Febr./April next year.
But your valentine and Toni#1 looks very very beautiful and delicious.
Best regards Frank

Thanks Frank, since I'm in SoCal, everything seems to grow nice and easy. But I do have to many fruit trees so I'm in the process of slowly removing my large trees and putting some in large pots. I do have one green fruit on my Kinkoji now (3" diameter) in a pot, this tree has sumo, valentine xie shen and kinkoji grafted.

Your Valentine pummelos colored up nicely.

I also prefer the more tart types, but my father-in-law loves these so they never go to waste.

gozp, you got fruit fast. Your fruit shape and color looks good. It does look slightly different than the two shapes I get on my trees. Your fruit seems to have a smoother outer skin. Let us know how it tastes when you eat it.

It was sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet considering it got picked early this was on december & considering the plant is still fairly small. The trunk size is as thick as a pencil size or a tid bit thicker. 😅

Wow, surprised you got such a large fruit. Next year your tree should get larger and have more fruits to compare the taste. Did you find any seeds in the fruit?

Nice, better plant those seeds. I'm growing some sumo seeds now that have germinated. I have one seedling from 2-3yrs ago that is starting to grow good.

I'll let you know in a few more years. My pomelo seedling tree took 7 yrs to fruit, but it was worth the wait, excellent tasting fruit.

I believe Shiranuis are very likely true to seed.
