Jean Ellen mango any fans

Thinking about adding a early-season mango to my collection. Was just wondering if there are any fans of this mango and why.

Not familiar with the Jean Ellen. My early tree is a Rosie Gold that we really like when picked early. If I had another early will be a Hawaiian Dwarf have been eating some for a week and love the complexities of flavors and smells.

I first tried Jean Ellen this past month. I am not a fan, maybe the second crop(if it has one) is better…

But you have Dwarf Hawaiian, bo.  Isn't that early enough for you?

Trying to diversify  my early season I have recently grafted Ah ping and I am my curious about Jean Ellen. Does it have any similarities to Angie taste profile wise?

I think it does in terms of aroma. Angie and it's relative are more in the creamy side of things but jean Ellen is more grape like (maybe) in terms of texture.

I agree with Khan on his opinion of Jean Ellen aroma, and i think he says aroma because the sweetness is nowhere near a good Angie, in my opinion. His texture opinion is spot on, grape like, similar to
A phillipine in texture I’d say.

This hasn't happened every year but I do have one tree of Jean Ellen that came with the property. I had it bear so heavily I've never seen so many mangos on one tree before. It is a fairly compact growing tree. Taste isn't anything special but when a small tree holds ~400 pounds of mangos it is a $1200 gift.
