How to open tagua nuts? (vegetable ivory)
« on: March 05, 2023, 11:13:03 PM »
So I was cleaning out my room and found some tagua nuts I was given at the fruit and spice park many years ago. I removed the outer husk of one fresh, but the other one I left alone. How do I open the rest? Does anyone have any experience with that?

When we were in Ecuador, they just ran over them with a car to break the husk.

I got the husk of one. There’s still bits of husk though and do I need to open the inner shell to get the ivory? Or is that the ivory?

Shelled, they are brown on the outside and creamy on the inside.
Seriously, driving over them with the car will not hurt them, and will clean the husk off.
These are all shelled...
