Biggest Eugenia uniflora ever...
« on: April 13, 2012, 03:29:23 PM »
Hi to all :),

I found these trees about 4 years ago and ever since then, I always eat some fruits when i'm in town! There are 3 trees nearby each other and I think they are atleast 50+ years old!  I consider them as the biggest surinam trees on the Island 8)  The fruit are small, sweet sour and has a resinous flavor! Which I like alot! ;D ;D ;D

The trees are located in the center of the town of Santa Cruz! The house is abandoned and on sale at the moment!
I got a feeling that one of these days the house will be sold and of course the new owners will get rid of these majestic trees :(!!! I Hope not!!!!

WOW! I've never seen such a big specimen! In countries like Germany that kind of old trees would be protected, which means you wouldn't be allowed to cut it down, even if it's on your property. I wish Spain had the kind of laws  :-\

Thanks for sharing, amigo ;)

Yes surinam can get quite large with age. You should buy that house Steven and save that tree!  ;)
