Check out this one:

I use this filter for my city water:

May be cheaper alternatives out there!

Good Luck!

Places that sell drip line irrigation also sell inline water filters, as you need one for your drip system. They cost around $7-10. None of those are clear plastic, and don't recommend that as algae will build up and clog it. The drip inline filters have a screen mesh that you can easily take out and clean. Your system should be set up something like this:

Anybody know of an in-line water hose filter?  I am on well-water and my new micro irrigation system has a fine mess filter screen, which gets clogged with sand from my well water every few days.  I am curious if anyone knows of an in-line water hose filter that I could install?  I am looking for something that is clear, so I could check to see if it's clogged and re-useable (rinse off & re-use).  If not, I can install one of the "whole house" filters, but that would be a lot more work.
Is there a possible issue with you well ?  Maybe in need of liner ?

There isn't much sand, but it only takes a little to clog the fine mesh screen.  The $20 filter seems like a better idea than $1500 new well, which probably have the same amount of sand.

That filter should work fine. It's nice you don't have to remove that filter every time you want to clean, like some of the straight filters. Will the timer be affected by sand particles? If so you might want to install the filter first and then the timer.

Oscar, you have a good point.  But there isn't enough sand to make me worry about it yet.  If I have to remove the timer for maintenance or something, I will reconfig as you suggest.
