Trust me, I wish I had the permits to be able to ship them to you.  I choose flat rate priority shipping with fedex so it痴 not like it would cost me more or anything.  Anyways I have had Julian痴 Mameys and you値l be extremely pleased with his Key West Mameys.  Maybe next year I値l be able to ship to CA.

Yesterday Florida Boy dropped off a heavy bag full of Key West Mamey for me to enjoy. He insisted on delivering them even though it was quite a drive. What an absolute gentleman, he brought more fruit than expected and also shared excellent advice on my garden and future tree plans.

As for the fruit, the Key West mamey sapote he delivered was among the best mamey I have tried. We cut one in half that was ready to eat and put it in the refrigerator to chill. Half an hour later, all I needed was a spoon to dig out the dense, cakey meat of the fruit. Perfectly ripe and crimson/orange in color. Layered over the base pumpkin pie flavor I tasted honey, vanilla and creme brulee. The sweeter flesh near the skin was even more intense with a floral aroma. Half of a smaller mamey is the perfect dessert cup, super satisfying. I hope he still has some left when I finish eating this batch.

He also brought some avocados, can't wait to try those once the first one softens on the counter.

It was an honor to meet you and the drive was lovely.  Reading this literally made my chest warm.  Thank you so much for your business but most importantly your welcoming camaraderie

Received my box today. Unfortunately, it looks like a UPS worker somewhere decided to record a few hydraulic press smashing videos and figured my box would be perfect for that. Only three fruits survived unsmashed but thankfully the flattened fruits still taste great so I scooped out the flesh to have some Mamey pudding.

Wow brother,

I知 so sorry about the way it was shipped.  I知 going to make it right tomorrow for you.  I値l send you an email soon.  Thank you so much for your support.  I was concerned about the 5 day shipping when they promise 2-3 days.  I just wanted to try my best to get it there for your potluck at work.  Thank you for your patience and I promise to make it right.

You could also try to bake the squished fruit into a crustless mamey pie, kind of like a pumpkin pie. This recipe also works in muffin cups if you want individual servings. Just substitute mamey for the canned pumpkin and go light on the sugar.

All good. I'm pretty sure the box just took a nasty drop (or two) somewhere along the way so not much that could be done to protect such soft fruit. Still got to have some people at work try out the fruit and I'm drinking a Mamey shake as we speak. Thanks.
