Heavy watering of jabos and Sabara in particular will not hurt the tree. it can easily handle periods of flooding.

Great info! Do you know if I can do this to Surinam Cherry, Garcinia, Rose Apple, Wampee, and Guava to get them to fruit?

That tree is about 3-8 yrs away from fruiting i would guess. Sabara can take 10-15 yrs to fruit. I think heavy watering will make them flush but wont induce early flowering. A tree that is already flowering and fruiting age will flower heavier if given alot of water . Ga3 can make them flower sooner but you have to be careful with it.

Which is the best method to do it? put a plate under the pot or getting it flooded from the top?

I think the tree is grafted and it has multiple buds along the trunk, not sure if they're flowers yet, but as it is already mature (I believe) stressing it can make it flower

I've read something about it with surinam cherries but they don't like too much water. My surinam cherry reacts better to drought stress than to water stress... But don't let it get too dry or it could die

If the tree is mature...you can also try girdling the trunk to stress it to flower...Be warned though you could damage or even kill the tree if not done properly.

I have several different types of jabos fruiting now.
It's not fun waiting on the trees to start.
I would focus on trying to make your tree happy and it will
fruit when it's ready. I definitely wouldn't girdle it
Once my trees started they fruit more and more often.
You don't have long to wait if your tree is 7 or 8.

My Jabos are growing in pots... in well draining soil... and they are watered daily. Fertilized frequently. Full sun too. They are thriving.
They seem pretty flexible and adaptive to different growing conditions.
