Looking for Japanese Acid Citrus [EU]

Hi!

I am looking to trail some citrus varieties for outdoor growth in the Dutch climate. For this I am still looking for some Japanese acid citrus varieties. Feel free to let me know if you have some budwood, seedlings or cuttings available, or have another source.

Looking for:
Yuko or Yukou
Kabosu

Also interested in:
Shiranui
Haruka
Mature Flying Dragon tree/budwood

Feel free to let me know if you have something that you think might be interesting for me

The only source I know is Quissac but their plants come from a seed they have grown.

I got my hands earlier on some Citrus haruka fruits from France. I really enjoyed the fruits.
Unfortunately, I was not able to germinate the seeds. Does anyone know where within Europe I can get some budwood or a tree?

Any particular reason you couldn't germinate the seeds ?? Having fruit available seems a convenient source to propagate from.

Unfortunately some fungus infected the seeds. Perhaps I can get some fruits next year and try again

Next time send them to me I can help you germinate any kind of seed and send them back.

Would anyone be willing to ship Haruka seeds, plant, or budwood to the US? I went to Japan in 2019 and visited Kawazu where I first encountered this fruit. I loved it some much, I went back the next year and tried to save seeds from the fruits I ate. Unfortunately, none of them germinated and they all seemed to rot away from fungus.

I might also possibly be visiting Italy and/or the Netherlands in late August and could potentially pick up. Please let me know. I love Haruka so much!

I went back the next year and tried to save seeds from the fruits I ate. Unfortunately, none of them germinated and they all seemed to rot away from fungus.

How did you save the seeds ? 
I got some Citrus seed via Ebay, seed in a zip lock bag no moisture source.
Due to Covid postal delays within Australia, probably just got them in time and some dried out and failed.

Specialty Citrus fruit was sometimes seen in supermarkets, i.e. unusual Japanese varieties.
I am wondering if there are any Citrus collectors / hobbyists in Japan ?
Any Citrus Forums in Japan ?
It is not hard to find webpages for Citrus farmers growing less common types,
but that is about as far as I have got.

You can speed up their growth by extra heat, shortening the dormancy period.

Many varieties are also available on the Japanese amazon. Due to regulations regulations it's however not possible to import any material into the EU / Export from Japan. Nowadays fruits are being exported from Japan, and that is a way to get the varieties (my sudachi and yuzu are from Japan, and even found an importer selling haruka from Japan).

Interesting about the FD, I will have to try that

I still have a sudachi, also grown from seed at the same time, in 2015.



It has never fruited yet but it stays outside all winter here in Antwerp (in a rather sheltered location though). If you're interested I can send you cuttings (tell me how to do it thought because I've never sent live plants through the post) or you can drop by if you're ever close to Antwerp.

that
kabosu from Adavo may originated from Riera nursery and can contain tristeza.

That is concerning. I am planning of testing them for the disease, and hope for the best.
