Title: Least Colorful Mangos
Post by: starch on February 16, 2018, 10:36:38 AM
I did a quick search and didn't find quite what I was looking for. Is there a list of mangos with the least color (ones that are still green skinned when mature).

In lieu of a list already existing, maybe users can rattle off which ones fit this criteria.

I believe Peach Cobbler is a dull green when it ripens.

Carrie, Mallika, and many of the Thai varieties that are eaten green and crunchy such as Keo Savoy, Khun See, Kook Lom Krong, NDM. Several of the Indian Mango varieties are also picked green and allowed to ripen off the tree. I’ve had excellent Alphonse and Kesar that we’re green in the box and ripened yellow at room temp. I’m sure I butchered some of the names.

Peach Cobbler - this is most difficult to tell when it will ripe and it goes downhill quick, but delicious, eat when its firm-soft!
