We gave the Apmay 5 days to settle down after the trauma of being shipped. We removed the top layer of potting soil down to the top of the seed of the rootstock. It appeared that the rootstock had a significant root system,  so we stepped it up to a three gallon container. Wood chips, mature homemade compost and 40% coarse sand was our potting mixture. ¼ cup organic citrus fertilizer was added just below the top of the soil mix. Getting bathed in filtered light during the hottest part of the day.

Apmay updatd: Put it in a seven gallon this morning.  It's been growing under a Carambola.
Going to expose it to heavier sun exposer for the Fall /  Winter season.

Can't lie, I'm excited. Temperatures forecasted in high 50's after a warm weekend.
Will it be enough to spur Rosa, Dwarf Hawaiian and Rosigold to bud out some panicles?
What do you think?

Sauntering about the garden this morning (with coffee mug in hand) we found this fruit lying beneath the tree. Never had a November Jackfruit before. This year I did start spraying the tree with micronutrients. Not saying it made a difference but, it's the only imput from me that changed.





12 lbs 4.2 ounce is respectable.

I'm starting to be getting concerned.  Should Ronnie Avocado be this dark at this time of year? This is supposed to be a very late variety.  Anyone on the forum have experience with Ronnie fruit? Can this fruit hang until February?

No complaints here. Just sprayed 20 gallons of micronized elemental sulfur. ¼ cup per 4 gallon tank.

Last year it took 8 gallons of sulfur solution to treat my trees. Today I sprayed and it took 20 gallons. The trees have definitely gotten bigger. I'm doing it as a preventative application. My theory is powdery mildew lies dormant waiting for cooler dryer weather. Trying to stop the spores drifting about from being able establish an active colony.

Is my thinking off? I don't want  repeat devastating 2024 scenario. The worst mango season I've ever experienced.

We still have 3 smaller ones hanging on the tree. I don't recall having fruit this late on this tree.

We harvested it this morning. Headed down south to Homestead to pick up Sul-po-mag for the winter fruit tree feeding.



A respectable weight of 42.6 lbs. The largest fruit on our tree.

October 20 and we still have Jackfruit. The big one I plan on  sharing with the Sleepy Lizard 🦎 clan tomorrow. Heading to Homestead to pick up 200 lbs of Sul-po-mag. I'll put it on the scale ⚖️ when we cut it down.
