Scammers on etsy selling fugazi fruit trees
« on: August 31, 2022, 10:10:19 AM »
Scammers on Etsy. Tampanursery is using my photos of phet pak chong to sell Dream annona. Have contacted them a couple times. Etsy does nothing. If you buy trees or fruit on Etsy you might encounter this. There are also other vendors on Etsy using my photos.

Fill something like this out and send to Etsy, they'll either make the seller remove the images or (more likely) just shut the store down. Big companies don't usually ignore a DMCA, too much to lose.

Buy a tree from them and see if they’ll let you drive over and local pick up.
Use a big ol watermark for your pictures in the future.

Given that they just stopped using my PPC photo to sell a Dream tree it is possible that they saw this post.

I'm having the problem of not having fruit photos of some of the longer to fruit species I grow. I'm just starting up a hobby nursery and have nice photos of my Chilean guavas but unfortunately don't have any photos of my Garcinias and Eugenia's fruiting. It would be great if their were more free stock photos of fruit for new growers to use. It sucks people can't be more honest and do stuff like this, makes it hard to trust listing accuracy.

There's something more humble about asking for permission to use a photo than outright stealing it without permission though. Even if you can't find the image you want on pixabay for free. This kind of scamming is rampant in the groups on facebook. People stealing pictures, demanding payments by zelle or venmo and just disappearing.
