I've been looking into it and growing a few things for fun.

Random thoughts and observations in no particular order:

One of the forum members recommended netting the trees, and that seemed to work well for him.

I personally just plant the $10 citrus from Home depot and replace them every 2-3 years (Lemon, Lime, Calamondin)

I have sugar bell growing and though it might be greening tolerant, it does look like crap more often than not.

It's possible to grow them well enough here but it is higher maintenance than something like Mango or Avocado.
For me, with 40 other trees, It's too hard to constantly spray things and I don't think I'd like the aesthetic of netting the whole tree.

Sorry to hear about your losses.

For less common container varieties I'd say, Ice cream, Thai Everbearing, Arka neelkiran, pina colada, and maybe Jehangir (though is productivity is questionable in south florida)

So these aren't considered harmful chemicals, right?

I try to use Omri pesticides only when needed.
The dosage makes the poison I suppose.
I wouldn't eat them for instance

When spraying the copper you should have the right PPE

The same thing goes for Copper, I noticed anthracnose on fruit that hardly ever has issues.

This year i finally sprayed some sulfur to prevent PM as much as possible. (Last year was the first time i noticed enough)
Was planning on doing some copper for anthracnose this weekend but we'll see if laziness takes over

Sydney should be fine for the Chinese ones. (from what I gather from climate maps)

I concur with this.

If you want the Indochinese flavor around the same season you might be able to get some from later Zinc crops or even Sweet Tart (though they both are not what i would consider low vigor)

Mamey - Don't like the fruit enough
Canistel - Don't like the fruit enough
Olosapo - Don't like the fruit enough
Eugenias - Haven't really been impressed with the ease of growing or fruit. (Rain Forest plum and Araca are the exceptions)
Lychee - Unless I hear positive Erdon Lee reports when it makes it stateside
Sugar Apple - White fly magnet
Malay Apple - 8 years no fruit
Cherimoya

Scale back the amount:
Jackfruit
Avocado
Star apple
Starfruit
Soursop

Jury still out:
How many Jabos and Garcinias do I actually want/need (Whats worth planting considering local soil and weather)

What varieties are your best producers?

Based on my personal experience
If i take the size and age of the tree into consideration, I'd say, Angie, Keitt, Zinc, Fruit Punch.
Edward, Thai everbearing, and Cac have also been really good but not branch-breaking productions.
Peach Cobbler has produced a lot in the last two years but I'm not that big of a fan of the mango
M4, Cotton Candy, Sugar Loaf, Venus, and Honey kiss have done pretty well but the tree or multi-graft branches are not big enough for me to pass judgment
Glenn and Cogshall are kinda hit or miss (Removing both)
Neelam is an alternative bearer but at least produces something every year


Alex (Squam, TropicalAcresFarm) has plenty of information about what generally works and doesn't in Soflo, best resource IMO

Peach cobbler does have a strong peach flavor if you let it get really soft.
Some say this is overripe but it comes down to preference. It really hard to peel and slice that way though.

You can also give Juicy Peach, Baileys Marvel, or good ole Kent a shot. (Last two have more peach texture than flavor)
I agree with the Orange Essence a shot if you're looking for something slightly more consistently tangerine.

Anything thats early season you can generally include in this list. Edward for example.
I this point most of my trees give me a pretty consistent crop.
Ndm and manilta were the only one that didn't and they are in the process of being top worked.
Glenn has been disappointing as well.

CAC hasnt given me a full bloom in the last two years but I still get a lot of from fruit whatever bloom it does set.

I found them to be better if left to ripen in the fridge for a few days

My main problem with it is, it's a canistel-tasting type of fruit.
I prefer my fruits to be juicy.

I do have 7 gal tree i was keeping for myself that i need to sell now.

I'm not sure how things are going in CA with their mango growing, maybe they can help.
This is the time of year in FL when everyone is waiting for flowers so it's hard to find any that wants to possibly sacrifice their 2023 season by clipping scions now.

Most of these will be widely available from various members in the forum.
Tropicalacresfarm sells scions via their website too
Unfortunately, you'll likely have to wait until late spring to buy scions, most people's trees in FL are dormant and we're waiting for flowers.

This happen to a few of my fruit this year.
Not widespread enough for me to panic, I would also like to know what's going on.

From the little I could gather it seems related to Boron and Calcium. That's assuming the article i read was describing this same phenomenon
