I have a question to add to the above: what are the light requirements under those conditions?

How long will it take for the seedlings to bear fruit?

@Millet Would cutting off the top 25% inhibit fruit production?

Nice job, Steve.
How old is the Flying Dragon?
How do you prevent your plants from being blown off the roof? I am thinking of putting some on my roof but am afraid they will be blown off or blown over.

I am not convinced that the grass is a significant competitor for nutrients. Are there any scientific papers about this?

I too stand with Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!

Please provide more information on these containers, e.g., manufacturer, model no..

I tried urea from Alpha Chemicals once and it caused burning and defoliation. Their specification sheet says that biuret is less that 0.5%, which I believe is considered "low"biuret". Their spec sheet is here:
I do not know if I over applied it because I do not know what is meant by "over applied". I sprayed both sides of leaves until I saw it dripping from leaves. This was done indoors and trees were kept indoors under lights.

The citrus in 2" pots I have bought from Logee's have been severely root bound. I had to remove all soil from the root balls and cut away large circling or "J" shaped roots. I had to do that to two Turunji's I bought from them and both now have yellow leaves, which I believe is due to root problems.

My parents were Russian and they have told me what it was like living under Stalin's brutal dictatorship. Some of my friends were Ukrainian. My heart goes out to the Ukrainian people fighting for freedom and democracy. We need to send them more weapons.

I checked the roots and found no root rot, so it must be a nitrogen deficiency even though I feed with Jack's 25:5:15.
Any suggestions for treating the nitrogen deficiency?

This is a pic of Femminello syracusa lemon. The second pic is same tree, new growth. Is this root rot? Nutrient deficiency?

I peal off the outer layer and place them in moist paper towel in sandwich bag. Incubate at room temp. Have had no mold growth

Citrus General Discussion / Grafting onto fast flowering Poncirus

Would a seedling grafted to a fast flowering Poncirus seedling produce fruit sooner than on its own roots?

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Grafting seedling onto seedling

After posting, I realized that both rootstock and mandarin scion are juveniles, which means that it will take as long as 7 to 10 years to produce fruit. I do not want to wait that long and so will dispose of the mandarin seedlings.

I would like to graft a mandarin seedling onto a sour orange seedling. Should I remove leaves from the scion, the rootstock or both? Or leave the leaves on the scion but remove leaves from rootstock?

Citrus General Discussion / Re: CCPP Budwood Price Hike

Not being a California resident, budwood is even more expensive for me. I stopped ordering budwood from them because I just order trees from nurseries. Price is the same and usually lower than CCPP.

Some fig growers in the north have trained their trees to be "step over trees" which are protected from the cold using low tunnels.

I should have mentioned that my potted trees are under lights and at 60 - 65F, so it seems to me that light and temperature requirements would be met. No?

I just brought my trees indoors for the winter. I am considering grafting some of them. Can I graft now or should I wait until spring?
