So I’ve finally got to the point of collecting so much that I’m buying things that have very little information. I know a lot of you have hit that point haha. I bought this seedling from Bellamytrees. I grow Pitangatubas and those kinda have passion fruit taste like the description of this. So I assumed it’s maybe a sub species of Pitangatuba cause the fruit just looks like an elongated one  but the leaf looks very different almost like a jaboticaba.

I got sold this on eBay as Annona retulata but now I’m thinking it looks more like pond Apple? I do remember it looking more like reticulata leaves and after it lost its leaves and grew back they look like this. I grafted a branch of it onto cherimoya seedling and it took.

So I have 4 very old Lilly pilly species in my front yard and as I was watering I thought it would be incredible if I could graft another syzigium species onto them. I also grow the syzigium jambos/cumini that is fruiting in the back yard but I’d love to be able to graft it also onto the front yard plants. Can somebody tell me what syzigiums are compatible??

Just found this video I think claims pond Apple and sugar apple “atis” ? They have different flower types so is that not possible? Does it have to be same flower type to be hybrid? I have Toptropicals Annona Sp which they think is Pond Apple and soursop? Some people think it’s just pond apple. So my main question is do you think it’s possible to make a not so tasty fruit improved with crossing it with other related species? Just like how Babaco was created? I’m also hoping people improve mountain papaya varieties in the future

I’ve been wanting to grow this. I’ve seen a guy in Santa Cruz grow one in a big pot. I already grow Rollinia in my greenhouse but I’d like to experiment with Annona Sylvatica outside

I was reading a thread about guavaking on eBay selling false mango varieties.. I also bought from him what claims to be giant pink guava. No complaints about tree but I’m yet to see if they are good fruit. I bought black Madeira fig from seller in Texas “Texas-9661” and i received it with packing foam instead of perlite. I’ve read people do this but I don’t think it’s healthy for the earth or plant so it makes me skeptical if I have real black Madeira. I also bought Sri Chompoo Longan from Champa nursery “that died this winter” This was also packed with foam instead of perlite All my other longans including diamond river survived. Champa has so much great stuff but there are somethings I don’t like about it. Also wouldn’t really let me try white sapote off the mother tree that was loaded and dropping them on the ground. And the last is AquaGem on Ebay. I bought Dominican red carambola seedling “I doubt it will be red but there’s hope” and also got sold Dwarf Kwai muk which I’m almost positive is jackfruit seedling. I don’t want more jackfruit seedlings! I wanted Kwai muk and the seller responded saying they sent me the right item. I have 3 other Kwai muks to compare and tons of jackfruit seedlings and it looks like jackfruit.

I was going to buy lemon zest mango tree or fruit punch but after reading about kathy / kryptonite mango I’d love to buy a tree or scion!! Also Cac mango is supposed to be good?? You can also sell me on another good variety.
