I agree with K-Rimes recomendations

I reached out, and apparently, the source is from a nursery in Florida somewhere.

The etsy seller linked by skhan is a longtime forum member.  I've bought several plants from him in the past.  I would contact him and ask if he's verified his source.  He also might be open to trade scions if you're a forum member.

Lara Farms is selling Taiwanese jujube fresh fruits for shipping (excluding California), 1.5lbs for $25.

Janet

Thanks for the tip, i didn't realize it was from a forum member, i might reach out and give it a shot.

And i have a volunteer for emotional support if it doesn't work out ;D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Any atemoya experts???

From my experience in South Florida.
(Take it with a grain of salt since every in Florida is more likely chasing after cherimoya flavors, also a lot of annonas seems to taste very different based on what region you are from.)

For sugar apple flavor and texture in atemoyas I found Lisa and Birula to be the closest thing.
Calastro can have similar flavor too in some years but it is firm (which i prefer)

As for your original list, I've only fruited two, Dream and AP.
I haven't had a AP that i like, but Calastro is a seedling of AP and its delicious.

My personal order is Dream>Gefner&Calastro>Tropic Sun. Everything else i fruit was just fine, though i have not yet had a chance to try more of the AU varieties.
Is still prefer a good CA grown Honey hart over everthing else though

Where did the KJ pinks scion come from, since you mention it has yet to fruit so you can’t verify the type.

I believe the kj pink budwood ultimately came from Frank aka JF.
I got the budwood later after planting out my yard so my tree has been pot bound for a while. I just added the disclaimer in there since I never fruited it. I'm sure plenty of others have but mistakes happen.

I finally updated with picture after grabbing the last few abius.

Also added the remaining Annonas I have

Nice.

My only fruiting plant is the one I too got from Lara Farms as well. Dwarf and thornless. I got seedlings from a thronless/ thornfew :D off etsy. My seedlings from Guyana all have thorns. They've thus far been thriving in the shade.

O nice, are any of the seedling ones flowering. I heard some of them are dioecious.
I might try getting another grafted one from Etsy, it took me a while to figure out how to not kill them when they are little. I treated them like annonas and they seem to like that.

Not to Hijack this thread but there doesn't seem a thread that discusses this much.

I got an air layer from Laras a while ago after a few grafted trees bought from PR failed.
I had the from for the first time from F&S park, such a delicious fruit that no one seems to talk about. October fruit, multiple harvest, and shade tolerant

I got it from the tree label Rukam but i think that might have swapped the indica and rukam around at F&S.

I finally got my first fruit yesterday, it was even better since i forgot it and let it get really dark on the tree.

Hey guys.

My abiu tree is nearly done fruiting for the year. It's a solitary tree that's been fruiting reliably for the last 4 years. Around 15ft. I've been selling boxes of fruit during the summer for a few years now. This year I got around 100 lbs of fruit from it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the fruit since it completes with mango season and as I'm planning on selling this house in a year or so I'm putting the tree up for sale. You should have plenty of time to root prune.

I'm asking for $500.

I also have the last batch of grafted trees that looks sized up enough to sell. $50
8 Cherilata
1 Chonox Custard Apple (never fruited so i cant 100% confirm)
1 Tropic Sun
4 Dream
1 KJ Pink (never fruited so i cant 100% confirm)
1 Arka Sahan (never fruited so i cant 100% confirm)

This is the last batch I'm grafting...for a few years

I also have a bunch of A.montana roots stock (1gal) $10 and 2 large 1gal Garcinia Acuminata

PM if interested. Local Pickup only

Finally got a fruit of my Madruno, it took 7 years.
I like it a lot better than the charichuelo. Most of the flesh melted off the fruit, just a thin layer clung to the see. I put this in the same league as Achaha

i use it for cherilata rootstock, works perfectly

14
Do you still have the same number?

Yup same info, same place

15
Could I pick up locally?

Absolutely, let me know a time that works for you

16
Just my luck!  This is the penalty for not gracing this board on a daily basis!!

I think I still have enough abius for 3 more boxes

17
These are great quality. Skhan has it going on!

Thanks man, it's been a process to get it all up and running. I appreciate the words of encouragement

18
These are very good!!!
Thanks again for letting me stop by and get some while getting poured on in the rain😂
I find it best to cut and then scoop out with a spoon.

Anytime, bud, I'm glad you enjoyed them.

19
I just picked around 50lbs of abius. I have another 20 lbs on the tree.

Ideally, someone can just buy the lot, but if anyone is interested, please PM me. If you want the whole set I'll work with you on the price
$7/lb if it's just a few lbs.

I can do medium USPS boxes for $75, including shipping. Around 5lbs of fruit
I can't ship to CA

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Cambuca (or other large jabo) Growers
« on: July 01, 2025, 06:19:40 PM »
Im trying to grow out the big yellow ones as well.
My cambuca is around 4 years old in a pot. It's around 6ft. Doing pretty well. Surprisingly vigorous.
Inflata and clause are 2 years old and are around 2 feet.
All are in partial sun.

Once my cambuca broke the tree line I started seeing sun burn.
I'll need to figure out how to gradually harden them off in full sun

looks a bit like Taralay

22
Am I able to order just a single pound of Abiu? I’d love to just try the fruit.

Sorry, at this time I'm only offering the two option for shipping.
I'll look into the feasibility of an abiu only box.

Thanks
