OK, taste report on Rogers P.R. Canistel fruit, I was sent two fruits to taste and we tasted yesterday, excellent fruit best Canistel I've ever eaten you can eat skin and all very creamy texture moist with sweet potato type of taste very pleasing after taste we give it 4-thumbs up!! ;) Fruits on smaller side from fruits we tried in Hawaii but not dry texture at all highly recommend this variety! Thanks Kaz, for sharing ;) 8) 8)

I would scrap off old failed bud grafts and paint all exposed limbs with Latex white paint thinned with water 50/50 mix, so branches don't get sun burn!

I think of all the Proteaceae family Macadamia can tolerate some phosphorus better than most in family but have killed flowering proteas by putting horse poop on them so, be aware!

Wow Kaz, those are some very beautiful plumeria flowers that is cool you have them on on one tree, must smell heavenly all during flower time ;) 8)
if I could grow them outside might have been a contender!

The oil cured black olives that Carolyn showed above is way to go you salt cure first then can add oil and spices! We did black ripe that way 2-years ago and they were great really nice olive taste. You rinse the black salt cured olives until you get saltness you like!  ;)

Macadamias are pretty easy just don't give them any phosphorus fertilizer because they are in Proteaceae family and phosphorus can kill them!

I've cured my olives a few times and like the Sicilian style in this catalog  https://anrcatalog.ucanr.edu/pdf/8267.pdf was very easy! I used half ripe olives.

Nice looking graft Kevin, keep up the great work!

Wow Carolyn, looks promising I would but more rooting hormone and wrap back up! Maybe wrap tighter to try to keep earwigs out!

Bummer Brian, I got some cuttings from Marta at Reallygoodplants a couple years ago and grafted most of cuttings except small cutting less than 1/8"in diameter and stuck it in sterile soil on bottom heat (70-80F) with mist and it took. Have in big pot now waiting for fruit before I plant in ground! I believe it was "not #8 female" that I rooted! She has a few different cultivars one is her sweet variety "#4 female" I had it at one time but lost it in ground!

Kevin, property looks amazing and I assume the Lychee tree is in sheltered spot? Love the Selma looks, I supposedly had that variety but never has that color and I was always suspicious!

Patients Grasshopper ;) From one who has killed every Yangmei that came through my hands :-[

I've been growing cherimoyas for over 25yrs. and I hand pollinated when my trees were younger but now with older trees and multi-grafted I don't hand pollinate any more and get plenty enough fruit set without hand pollination. Some come misshaped but over 50% are full size fruits. I have clusters of 2-in one hole with 10 total in one area another area with 4-trees close together in two separate area's but areas close to each other about twenty feet away. Season was late this year just eating last of cherimoyas now!

70
I try to have at least two places where I have same variety and share with close friends where you can always get variety again in case you lose yours! Usually one tree and many muti-grafted trees.

71
Great job Kevin, once again you beat me out getting Wax jambu to take on Rose apple, I've tried two years in a row and this years not growing yet :-\I don't know if my trees are to big and need to cut back more before putting on graft or what! Concrats ;) 8)

Kaz, have you tasted Avozilla, Cannonball, Marcus Pumpkin? If you have please give tasting notes ;) 8)

I've been grafting for many years and this happens on some varieties of fruiting trees, Mulberry does this to me so, what you did by putting para-film or buddy tape is best way to treat! Good job! On diecious trees I graft in Jan.-Feb. and usually up wrap grafts by July first but sometimes for what ever reason healing on grafts takes longer!

Wasn't Marta's 'Guaruja Red' variety that she named a possible hybrid of dasyblasta X pitanga?
