Thanks for the tip Jeff.
I ordered a dry pack, I'm looking for chewy, less sweet type.
So far my favorites are the honey dates

You are looking for less sweet...the Honey dates do not really fall into that category.

Your right,
I did find them more complex in taste than the others. Sweet with a hint of saltiness
The down side is some of the seeds fall apart.

I just received my dates for this year, I don't think they are quite as good as last years, not as wet and gooey as years batch.  Still good though.

Did you order at the same time last year?  Maybe by ordering earlier in the season it would be different?

That is a possibility.
Pretty close, I may have ordered a month later this year, no more though.
I'm sure seasonal quality can vary just like any other crop.

Or here; http://www.dateland.com/
Their prices do not include shipping.

Nuts.com just buys them from somebody else and then sells them to you from their warehouse. I would buy direct from the growers like 7hotdates or dateland.

The boxs made good gifts for out of state friends. I also bought a larger box of 2 varieties to try.

I will probably buy a small box again for out of state people.

I will not buy again for myself as I prefer mango taste to the dates. I have many frozen and I still have a few on the trees.
