Yes we've had a solid week long cold/cool snap...which is increasingly rare in recent years especially in SE FL. After tonight tho...it looks like we are in for week-10 day spell of warmer weather with highs around 80..and lows a little above normal  in the mid to upper 60s...

I wonder what those changes will bring.

The forecast continues to be dry though ....

With this clod snap I'm expecting a decent bloom in a few weeks.
I got to start spraying sulfur soon to combat any powdery mildew.

Those lows are 10-12 degrees above historical average. More of the same garbage that’s happened after cold fronts the last several winters.

Yeah it's kinda disapointing that right after this cold period ..we're going right into an extended above average warmth period ... would be nice if we could trend at least to our historical averages between cold snaps...But ah well... grateful for this last week..... to have a week long cold snap is at least better than what we've seen in recent years ...

Must be nice. I think I lost a low sitting Surinam cherry to the 3 days of frost we had in Orlando with that week of mid-30s. Everything else looks fine and I pulled my potted stuff out of the garage on Saturday. Both of my potted mangoes appear to be blooming.

Looking good for me so far up in Ocala. Lychees are popping bloom spikes all over. Hopefully I’ll dodge a hard freeze this year since they are way to big to try to cover at this point. Only bad thing about this year is the Sri Lankan weevils have made it up here  so my lychees that have always looked flawless now have the ugly chewed up leaves.

Don’t want the rain but those night time temps in the 50s are just right.

Lots of mango bloom starting in my orchard. That dec cold snap did it -- first time we had one of those in a few years. They used to be a regular occurrence.

Noticed Black Kasturi mango at my neighbors must have flowered sometime after the Thanksgiving cold snap, is holding a few peanut size fruit.

50s is good, but the weather predicted for next week has been likened to the 2010 freeze with multiple days below freezing, so bad. I am picking up mulch from HD tomorrow to build mounds around the bases of my mango trees and cover them hoping they will make it.

Edit: just checked weather forecast, it appears it changed from this morning's forecast and while cold all week, nothing below 40.

All my mango trees, except Kesar, which lost a major limb during Irma, Mallika and Lemon Meringue have either bloomed or started to bloom in my yard. Dwarf Hawaaian and Ugly Betty are holding on to  tiny fruits. Miracle mango Choc Anon gave me a ripe mango on Christmas day and is holding on to 4 more mangoes. That part of my multi-graft tree has never flowered during the normal bloom/fruitset period.

It's noon and still around 60 degrees at my location..this fog/cloud cover has given some unexpected bonus cool hours... the next week to 10 days looks good...my lychees shouldn't be lacking chill hours this season...

2nd year in a row we've had temps below 29F
that doesnt usually happen in New Orleans. not every year anyway

the biggest problem is its only supposed to get to 38 for a high
which means it will stay below 32 most of the morning.

i might get out a blow dryer and extension cord. (seriously)

I don't care what the weather psychics are saying,  there isn't a chance that the temp in central Broward County breaks below 40.  If you believe that I have a bridge for sale. . .
