Cold hardy avocado seeds
« on: February 01, 2022, 05:10:41 PM »
Know there has been others asking but I need to ask too.

Anyways a kind member sent some Wilma avocado seeds that I did plant already. However I would be greatly happy to procure some more seeds from any of the cold hardiest varieties. If anyone out there has some please hit me up! Prefer varieties that can withstand temps of 25F or even better 20F or less. Might as well have cold hardy rootstock for the hardy types I will graft onto them later. It can get into the teens here every so often. Want not to loose any trees if that occurs.

I attempted grafting some rootstock I have now today and will be trying the rest over the weekend. I realized I'm gonna need vastly more rootstock in the future to try again not only to create my own trees but to have some to sell/giveaway down the road too.  I probably didn't do the greatest grafts today so it's possible I will fail and perhaps kill those rootstocks anyways.

Want seeds of varieties:
Opal
Wilma
Brazos Belle
Poncho
Joey
Lila
Fantastic
Mexicola Grande
And/or others of like cold hardiness

Thanks for your help! DG

Hello,

I live in France. It is very difficult to obtain cold hardy avocado pits.

Would you be able to send me some nuclei of the Fantastic, Brazos Belle and Joey varieties.

I will compensate you for the transport costs.

Furthermore, is there a nurseryman who sends avocado stones to Europe?

Thank you in advance for your help.

There are many requests and it is difficult to find members who will have all the varieties. My own requests for the last 2 years have had little response.

Im sending the stewarts to france and some bacons to florida soon.

I dont have a ton of the bacon and zutanos because im still filling my orchard with them here but i can spare a few.

For sure next year I will a ton of extra bacon and zutano seeds to share since im almost out of space to plant out.

Is it possible to have some steward seeds please.

Tell me how can we organize if you agree.

Cordially.
