Looking for Lakoocha in All the Wrong Places...
« on: August 05, 2022, 05:06:59 PM »
Where can I find a nice sized lakoocha tree in South Florida? My tree dropped all its leaves and may have died.

Its been super dry and the sprinkler doesn't hit that spot well enough. Trying to save it, but a replacement or bigger tree might be needed, or would be nice.

Thankfully I'm not in need of a new lakoocha. =)

Have been watering like crazy, and its paying off.

Lakoocha is a great word to substitute on many a southern rock anthem.
Haven’t heard of anyone fruiting this in Florida yet but probably.

Sounds like you've managed to have a Lakoocha coup, so to speak . . .

Plants are often way more resilient than we think, so it's always great to see one of our stressed trees
that we think is dead come back to life when it gets treated right.

Cheers!

I have 2 large fruiting trees in Fort Myers, Florida. They taste like tangerine. Very delicious fruits.
I have seedlings in 1 gallon and 3 gallon pots, local pick up only. PM if interested.

I am glad your salzmannii are doing well. They are sloooooow the first few years.
Lacucha main crop is in June.

Just have one now (salz); its getting close to 3 feet tall. Seems to be growing faster as it gets bigger, but more rain would help. Can't seem to keep it watered enough lately.
