Why Are My Kishu Trees Blooming Again?
« on: June 12, 2022, 06:55:21 PM »
My Kishu trees went through their regular Spring bloom... set fruit... and now I see they are blooming again.
Anyone else experience this?
I've only been growing them a couple of years now... so maybe it is not unusual?

Are you fertlizing heavy/continously?

Hey Mike…
Yes I am weekly feeding them… lots of new growth.

Not saying this is it, but, water deprivation will cause citrus to rebloom.

Good to know. I guess I'm not consistent enough, or thorough enough, in my irrigation.  I often see off-season bloom in our trees, including a Kishu.

Not saying this is it, but, water deprivation will cause citrus to rebloom.

They are watered daily... part of my routine... so water deprivation isn't the answer.
Also... they are all growing in containers if that means anything.
I'm not saying this is a problem... more of a curiosity.
And it seems to be happening on all of my mature Kishu trees.

Since greening has affected the citrus in Florida the new fertlizer regimen
is to fertilize more frequently all year long. Since I have been doing this I have noticed
my citrus is blooming year round. The main bloom is still around March

Very interesting Mike.
And again I want to thank you for recommending the Kishus... they are fantastic.
