Sale pending...Thank you everyone!

Definitely not a Eugenia...I believe it is more close to a calyptranthes.
There were a couple in Mexico I saw that look similar to that.

Also have sabara rootstocks for $5 each...up to 25-50 available. They are about mechanical pencil thickness and can be grafted with small-medium scions this spring.

I also have more random rare grafted jabos available...Just ask around lol.
I give discounts if you buy multiple or even all of them!
Prices are flexible to a certain extent. I'd like to sell these all if possible.

Once again, no shipping or delivery at all. I have to study for exams even this summer so no time unfortunately.
The trees may have some red spots on the leaves because it is cold here, but they will easily bounce back once it warms up.
They are grown in promix and just need a new home.
I find it too hard to take care of all of them, and the last thing I want to do is move 100s of trees in and out of the greenhouse when I am studying for finals :P

I'll be posting some more trees here in the future too.
Thanks for looking!

My e. beaurepaireana seems to have set a half dozen or so fruitlets on its first flowering.  We'll see if they actually hold, it is still really early.

Ognin525, it is great to see one of your myrciarias flowering at such a small size.  Gives me hope that mine will as well.
Looks promising! I hear it tastes like peaches

Actually I think its the heat. My gauge annoyingly resets at 5pm so I never see the day time temps inside the greenhouse on work days, but I have the day off today at it was just 98 and going up. It looks worse right now then it did this morning (super wilty looking). I sprayed everything down at the temps already back down to 90, but on my work days, I'll probably need to take it out every morning.  That or throw a frost cloth over the greenhouse to keep it a bit cooler. I know it can get to 105/106 in there on hot days if its fully closed, but I have had it completely open, so wasn't sure how hot it was getting. Too hot it seems.
Ah ok probably the huge temp swings then.
After 40s I’ve seen burnt new growth.

they really don’t like the cold.

I’d keep temps at 55 or above if possible.

But my friend has a few planted out in WPB and they look ok ish.

7
Why not? Because I said many times that I won’t be growing mangoes because when I eat a mango, it gives me pimples even at my age. Too hot, maybe.
Type IV hypersensitivity due to compounds in mango?
Contains urushiol which poison ivy has too.
I can’t comment as much as I don’t live in Cali, but some people like seedlings as Florida grafted trees on turpentine will flower themselves to death due to cold.

There is a thread here about mangos for people in SoCal I forgot the exact name though

1 looks to be red,
The rest look towards a sabara.

9
It’s a guy who is drop shipping trees from China.
Can’t comment on anything else though as I don't deal with them.

I have a few unmarked jaboticabas. Any ideas on their varieties? I can take closer pictures if needed.

Its more helpful if u can post close up pictures of the leaves instead of the whole tree.
But the last few look like sabara

My goals are to thin down the collection.
No need for 100 jabo varieties

I am focusing more on pineapples (easy to grow low space and quick to fruit. I have at least 30 planted in ground and I aim to hit 100 by 2027… and yangmei (mine are doing good and I have flowers…also quick to fruit (1.5 years to flower from graft)

Also I hope to upload more consistently to YT @ryanstropicalfruits

Other than that, keep on growing and taking care while weeding out bunk fruits like many Eugenia’s etc

Not entirely sure, but it does happen with jaboticabas also.
I believe it normally goes away as the plant grows, but Adam did have one jabo that kept the three leaf configuration.

13
Hello,
How does it taste?
Thanks

14
Thank you everyone, these have been spoken for even before I could post the trees
Have a merry Christmas everyone.

15
Any big trees or mostly smaller stuff? Always looking to plant something nice
Mostly smaller stuff like 3-7 gallons
It’s weird though you know…too big to ship, but nothing super amazing or anything😂

16
Hello everyone,
I’m making space in my greenhouse for different reasons, and I have a lot of Jaboticabas I’d like to sell
This time I will be going to FL the first week of janurary and can drop them all off at someone’s farm or house no questions asked!!!
Basically this offer is for anyone on the east coast of FL or central FL.
But because it’s my family vacation I ask minimum purchase of $250 and motivated to give real steals if you buy them all🤫 . If someone offer to buy then all after you make an individual offer for say a few, I will have to go with the larger offer just due to how it is.
But I may be able to work something out!
They may have slightly red leaves just because it’s cold up here but I can tell you they are healthy.
I will post pics and prices here soon!!

If you want to post pictures of the flowers we can let you know what kind they are.
Some are also hermaphrodite which is nice so you don't have to worry about male/female

I'd recommend keeping it in partial shade...
did you repot it when you got it? They seem to be very sensitive when young.
Also, keep in mind that they are less cold tolerant than regular mangoes and will need protection when below 50 for good measure.

I've posted this one previously but it's recently got a pretty good head of hair. I've got around 4-5 M. Cuspidata from the same batch of seeds. This one in particular has much smaller leaves, about half the size, of the other plants and has been growing much more vigorously:

Any idea how long these myrciarias take to flower?  I have a few about this size now.

Not sure, there's scant information online... this one is 2 years old now. Can't wait to see it turn into a cotton ball  ;D
Mine started to flower around that size. Has flowered 3x now, but still waiting on fruit set! Wish I bought another one at the same time.

Hello everyone,
I will be going to CA next week.
Any suggestions to go visit fruit related/nurseries/collectors etc.
Probably will make a run to SD, and then a run to LA area

Will try to hit ONGs again, and maybe a couple collectors in the area, but not sure what else is there to see.
Same with LA area, just know of a couple friends in the area I visited last year.

Thank you all for the help!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Why is it on ebay...
« on: December 18, 2025, 10:47:59 PM »
I can't say anything, but what happens on eBay stays on eBay ;)

It is funny though...sometimes I see a plant for sale on Kameron's website for $25 and he lists one on auction and it sells for $65 or something like that.
Go figure lol.

They have been very easy to sprout for me.
The deeper the pot the better...they will send out a huge taproot first and then will take a long time (around a year on the longer end is what I've heard) before sending up the first shoots.
That's where I fail because it gets too cold before they can put sprouts up, they end up dying.
I started them in a 3 gallon pot earlier this summer and you can see the big roots poking out the bottom.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Grafting. Stoopid question ;)
« on: October 30, 2025, 01:59:09 PM »
It's the maturity of the scion that help fruit quicker...but also rootstock vigor...
If you have a large rootstock and graft a branch from a small seedling, the grafted one should fruit better due to more nutrients coming from rootstock vs. seedling itself.
People will do this with mangoes where they smell the sap, and once they think it's worth growing, will graft the seedling branch to a big tree to speed up production.
