Will be curious to hear your impression (as a fruit expert) about them!

They ran out of Sindhri pretty quickly. In my opinion, Chaunsa is the best.

Usually they have Chaunsa, Sindhri and Anwar Rataul fruit

Certainly expensive for root stocks but this batch is the best I have seen at HD. Many of them had top cut off and had 3-4 branches.  A few had blue rubber bands at top suggesting nursery may have tried to graft on them.

Here is the one I bought.

Was at the Irvine HD (Irvine Blvd/Sand Canyon) earlier today and they still had a bunch of them.  They have bumped up the price and are now they are being sold for almost $50.  Got one and repotted immediately.  Had a great root system.

I saw quite a few in Irvine HD (Irvine Blvd/Sand Canyon) last weekend. There are some nurseries which are starting to carry mangoes grafted on Manila root stock. For example, Mimosa Anaheim had Maha Chanok grafted on Manilla last month. Ricardo's nursery in Long Beach also some times has mangoes grafted on Manila.

I also live close to coast as well but my VDB does not get affected at all with powdery mildew (PM). In fact, most of the figs are not affected by PM. I had grapes which were significantly affected by powdery mildew but you can choose some of the PM resistant varieties

I've seen it at Walter Anderson's in Poway.  TBH, it's easy enough to make yourself.  That's what I do.

I think it's something like:
~32.5% Peat Moss
~32.5% Sand
~5% charcoal
~15% pumice
~15% perlite

Just eye ball it.  Then mix in Osmocote fertilizer.

That is pretty close even though I think, there is not as much sand in it. Recipe I got from his YouTube sessions is 35% peat moss , 30% pumice , 20% perlite, 10% sand , 5% biochar charcoal

Did not receive anything

May be forum's PM function is not working?  Any way, was interested in orange sherbet but it does not seem to be available any more.

Missed it but it is very nice of you to share these with the community!

Has any one noted a difference in taste between the ones which have bumps and which don't have bumps?

I had grafted couple branches from scions from CCPP in 2021. They took off and have been producing heavily. About 2 years ago, I decided to graft more branches with my own budwood. Newly grafted branches started flowering earlier than previously grafted branches and produced large fruits. Most of these fruits did not have the knobs or they were inconspicuous. I have noted that they taste much better than later fruits - probably because they have been hanging longer. Later fruits have much more prominent knobs and still have high acid levels.

I had about 80% success rate with Clonex and peat moss but they do take about 4-6 months to root.

2nd the recommendation for Squirrelinator. It's a bit on the expensive side but its worked really well for me with minimal effort

58$ on Amazon now.  Seems cheaper than when I got them.

Got a link for the $58? I can only find them at $73

Do you use the basin to drown them or?

I have never drowned them but that is what some of the amazon comments suggested.

Squirrelinator works really well. Would recommend buying it with the basin.  Basin helps with their transport or if you want to give them a swim lesson!

Has anyone try to grow / taste Golden Lady?  I believe only Wong farm near palm desert sells this variety?

I know this is a much older post, but Wong farms recently brought some Golden Lady mangos to a farmers market near me and I was extremely impressed. I noted lychee, white grape, honey in my tasting observations.

I haven't found much info about securing a tree or budwood from the farm themselves, but there is a nearby nursery in Riverside by the name of "Utopia Trees" that sell the variety on a manilla rootstock. Apparently, the variety is very cold hardy and does well in Southern California, which makes sense considering the original farm is located in Mecca, CA.

I am looking to add it to my collection, but scions are few and far between since it came out around 2020 and is only coming from this one farm. I think it has a lot of potential to become a California staple.

Are you certain that mango trees sold by "Utopia Trees" are grafted on Manila? When I asked them, they stated that trees are from Florida and grafted on Turpentine.

What root stock are they on?

Haven't heard about the Mexican Pearl Guava. Is it different than the Taiwanese Pearl guava?
