Tropical Fruit Discussion / Print for Winter Shelter / Green House Plan
« on: September 28, 2015, 06:26:59 PM »
I place the post in case someone can use this print...I drew a plan This weekend for a friend that wants to build a winter shelter for his plants, and  he has no ideal how to begin to built one, so I drew him an easy to follow plan, and I wanted to share with others that may have a need for a winter shelter. (I have it in pdf 24'' x 36'' if u need it) This shelter can be taken apart and store during the Summer, and assembled when needed. The shelter can double as a greenhouse I have two of them and used them as  green houses to root cuttings and to germinate seeds. The shelter that I drew holds 45-3 gal. containers and 98 -1 gal. containers. In the middle the plants can be around 34'' inches tall, and at the edges 22'' inches tall.
Cost of this shelter is around $ 265.00 USD. This shelter shall last 10 or more years if taken care of, because it is made with pressure treated lumber
the water and moisture won't hurt it.
Revision u don't need a 2''hole saw u need a 13/8'' paddle bity

I have rooted hundred's of cuttings using Pepsi Cola bottles, from a single bottle to a triple decker. Pepsi Cola bottles work better for this You can do this by cutting at the top edge, were it starts to turn, for single's, or for doubles and triples at the  bottom edge of the bottle, . Single bottles need a 3x3 inch door, doubles and triples don't need a door but do need a (V) type window for air filtration just over  the soil line, you must also make a 1/4 inch hole in the cap, for air filtration, or fungus and mold will start to grow, you also need drain holes at the bottom. In the Pics. you can see Hibiscus cuttings fully rooted, and an Annona Reticulata scion, that was place in a bottle with an umbrella bag over it, to keep it from drying, its been there since 4/14 and it is still green from absorbing moisture from the soil

Why are the pics. posted sideways, it is extremely aggravating when adding pics.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL FATHERS IN THE WORLD.My Father planted a seed, which life it gave to me.
On this Father's Day I Thank him for planting that seed.
I will always Love him for everything he did for me.
Even though he's no longer around, but what became of that seed is.
We all live and die, just like the trees.
I planted my own seeds, just like my Hero did.
And on this Father's day , I'm enjoying the fruits of my trees.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY
