I didn't see a thread dedicated to this exciting new introduction into the USAApparently this variety is quite precocious when compared to most varieties of coronata, that can take 15yrs...the Restinga variety fruits in about 5-7yr (sometimes even earlier I assume)I wonder who is going to be the first to fruit this one in the USA? (Or at least on the forum? Who will have flowers or fruit first?)I have some trees about 3-4ft tall, but they're still a good 1-3 yr away I'm assuming...Will post pics soon...

Pretty impressive stuff! I'd like to see and hear how the fruit differs from other varieties.
Great looking Jab's..hopefully his hands are not like Andre The Giant (I meant to add a pic of Andre hold a can of beer but my computer wasn't cooperating)Chris
I wonder if the restinga fruit will be as large as some of the other Coronata fruit, approaching golfball size? Adam, how does restinga perform with city water and high pH on its own rootstock? Simon

SimonThe new book shows slightly over 3cm diameter It's not the larget coronata variety, but is a large fruit for sureI heard they tolerate city water very well...but i haven't had a chance to test them for too long...mine were on city water for a good year with no major problems..but I did end up having to drench with chelated Fe once or twice.
tree looks great Polux, thanks for posting the picture...supposedly this variety is not much taller than 10ft in cultivation.

Joshua I have some small seedlings of the common and restinga varieties. They will be around.
