« on: April 15, 2016, 02:07:33 PM »
I have a seedling of this tree, but I don't know what this tree is called. Any expert out there can help?
Fruits about 2 inches long. Flowers maybe 12 inches total. Tree height 8ft.

In Fiji called cut nut. Mohd got it right, Barringtonia edulis. Family is Lecythidaceae, same family as Brazil nut.

Thanks! it really hurts my OCD to have an unidentified plant; I don't know how that happened...

Has anyone tasted the seeds/fruit?
How many years to fruit?
Would this plant be considered and ultra-tropical?
I couldn't find info on dioeciousness so I'm assuming it's monoecious?
